SME Financial Empowerment Programme Powered by Proxtera Launches Mobile App for Business Owners/MSMEs

The recently launched SME Financial Empowerment mobile application will provide MSMEs with easy and efficient access to the certifications in the SFE programme from the comfort of their smartphone.

The SME Financial Empowerment Programme is an open education initiative and a collaboration between the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It aims to build foundational digital literacy and a good understanding of the cross-border financial services relevant to MSMEs, enabling them to thrive in the digital economy.

Through the programme, MSMEs can learn crucial skills such as personal financial management, the importance of digital platforms in cross-border trade and alternative financing options enabling them to expand their businesses and access new markets.

The SME Financial Empowerment Mobile app has been designed to enhance the learning experience of business owners and increase the accessibility of the programme to a larger range of MSMEs.

The global smartphone penetration rate is estimated at 67%, in particular developing countries like India, the Philippines and Ghana have an extremely high smartphone penetration rate. As such access to a mobile phone is more likely than a laptop or computer. By creating SME Financial Empowerment in a mobile app, more business owners and individuals are able to access the content and the courses.
